The Road to Being a Spiritual Tarot Reader: Alter on my Wall

The Road to Being a Spiritual Tarot Reader: Alter on my Wall
Dear Sweet Spirit,

We all contain some sort of alter in our house.
A dresser with pictures of those we love.
A desk with pictures of those we have lost.

Things gather in a particular place and with no reason in our heart, they settle and become permanent.
We collect that which looks beautiful to us.
We purchase the most expensive statues of Saints and Gods, looking to them for resolution.

My alter started simple.
I had to hide who I was becoming.
Things placed in the open, with crystals scattered in different cupboards, candles set with no intention, I began to build my alter to the Universe.

Now I have two alters.
One for the living and one for the dead.
Pictures of those who have passed, Saint Death, an offering of fresh flowers, crystals, and things remembered.
They represent my ancestors.
Those who dwelled in the trees and mountains.
Those who whisper to me in the darkest nights of my life.
They reveal to me an answer.

The alter of life sits in my office.
It represents those who are still walking this planet.
Who bring joy to my heart even though they may live miles away.
Believe me when I say, I miss them every fucking day.
It contains pictures of living people, crystals that represent life, my wand, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Feather Fans for smudging.

Which do I feel connected to?

The alter of death calls to me more than the living, now that I am older.
My power has evolved, and most of the time all that is needed is a picture of a person to keep them safe from harm.
They will sit on the alter until I feel that they are okay.
Most of the time they sit on the alter of living for a few years, because they are always evolving.
The alter of the living is there to help those that I love in their spiritual growth.

Do we need an alter?

Not really, but spirit will lead us to build something that resembles one.
We may find our dresser and shelves filled with crystals that speak to us when they wish to be moved, or pictures of those who have passed on one side of the room, while those who are living are on the other.

The Universe has a way of leading us back to the truth.
We turn to our ancestors and try to connect through the items that are from the past.
We seek an answer to this thing called life.

Why should we have an alter?

To keep us connected to our soul purpose.
To help us understand the truth when we wish to only understand the lie.
To open up a line of communication with those who have passed.
To keep us humble.

Maybe it is all just in my mind, that the alter has some sort of power, when really the alter is within us.
We shape and form it into this reality, so that we can feel connected to the things we cannot see.
Like the High Priestess card, things unseen are taking place behind the curtains.

We leave it up to the spirits to take care of the obstacles in our way when times get tough.
The alter is our expression of love towards the Universe, acknowledging that there is something bigger out there, and that the vastness of the Universe is also within the vessel we call a body.
We will do what we want in the end, but know what we create alters in every place we inhabit.

With all my love,
Aaron

Hello Beautiful People,

I have decided to stop the Energy of the Week readings at this time.
I feel that it is time to focus on something different.

My journey has come to a fork in the road and I am choosing to take a different path.
Letting go of readings at this time and focusing on teaching others about Tarot in my new place of residence.

Things change and evolve.
I want to thank everyone for reading the Energy of the Week entries and leaving comments, but it is time to focus on spiritual advice and knowledge.
It is time for the new generation of Tarot Readers to evolve and grow.

It is time for me to teach more and aid others on their spiritual growth.
I will be posting once a month at this time, and the entries will be more about spiritual advice and lessons that can take place on our spiritual journey.

My goal is to help others identify that they are not alone on this journey and that we all feel the same way at some time or another.
Like the song “Everybody Hurts” by R.E.M, we can all empathize with the growing pains, but we also can offer some sort of advice on how to push through and shine again.
Bright and new, like the Star card in the Tarot, we move in a circular motion, returning home once again.

I do not know where all of this will take me, but I know that I will share my adventure and knowledge with those who visit my blog.

With all my love,
Aaron

The Road to Being a Spiritual Tarot Reader: Leaving it all Behind

The Road to Being a Spiritual Tarot Reader: Leaving it all Behind
Dear Sweet Spirit,

There are moments we will find our self, stuck in a cycle.
As if we are doing things out of the greater good of love, and we find our spirit in shambles.
We look to the South for inspiration.
An opportunity of some sort, that will carry us to the finish line, unscathed and intact.
We wish for something more to happen.
A ray of hope that shines down on us to reveal the secret truth.
Sometimes we have to just throw our hands up in the air and say “fuck it”.
Get rid of it all.
Get rid of old things that do not serve us.
Throw those tiny figurines away that are broken and damaged.
Hit the reset button.
Start fresh.

When we find our self in a cycle of shadow, we move through things with no passion or heart involved. We do things to satisfy our yearning of commitment.
We repeat things to try to understand, but sometimes we hold on to them even after the lesson is learned.

When I was younger, I would hold on to every action and reaction created by someone’s own disbelief of self worth.
I would try to make truth out of a disagreement.
I would try to correct the wrong that was done, even if it did not happen because of my own actions.
The hurt and pain would swim at the surface of my spiritual journey, calling out for help, flailing arms to get my attention, and the Ego would listen.
It would state to me that the memory needed to be saved, when really it did not.
I had to learn to let go of things that were familiar.

That is why the Devil card kept coming up in my readings when I first started my spiritual journey.
I had to deal with the Ego part of my life.
The one that tells us we are not worthy of good.

Sometimes we must leave familiar things behind, to understand what they really mean within our life.
To analyze the very essence of what they represented.
Sometimes we must leave and just say forget all of it, so that we can appreciate what we really had in the first place.
Sometimes we must leave home several times, so that we can understand where home really is.

It is okay.
Spirit leaves the porch light on, so that when we do return, we feel accepted.
We feel worthy.
Spirit understands that things must be broken down.
Like The Tower card, we must break elements of our environment down to a simple form.
To return to the beginning.
To find our true self within the dirt and rubble.
To learn about rebuilding with a solid foundation.

With all my love,
Aaron

The Energy of the Week: Beaten Path
Hello beautiful people,
Welcome to your weekly post about the energy of the week, what it will be like, and how to take better advantage of that energy.
Let us begin.

Judgement:
Here is the card associated with the statement “rising up from the flames”.
The Judgement card is dealing with a change in direction.
Waking up from the dream.
Understanding the dream.
Understanding our true self.

When this card plays a part in a reading, the person must have evaluated their phase of the “Death” card and decided to listen to the transformation that has taken place.
The person may be changing their way of thinking and also the direction they are traveling.
Th card usually has a picture of people sleeping in their graves and Archangel Gabriel blowing a trumpet to wake them up from their slumber.
They wake up because it is time to rise again and live in the new Earth.

We walk forward and enter the Judgement card to find out just what we are made up of.
The card is advising us to wake up from the slumber we have put our self into.
We sleep to find strength.
We rest our body for the coming of a new day.
We transform from one person into another, to understand.
The Judgement card is that new understanding taking place in this world.
From spiritual to corporal.
Here we must apply those new found skills into our life, for Source wants us to develop and grow.

The Devil, Three of Swords, The High Priestess:
We are tempted to return to what is familiar, even if it means that our heart will be broken.
We believe in Spirit and know that we are at the perfect place, at the perfect time.
We return to what is old because we think things will be different.

Behind the curtains things are moving.
Our power is growing.
We are almost ready to create what is needed, to propel us in a new direction.
To propel us forward.

Try to stay on the beaten path.
Try to focus on the light at the end of the tunnel.

If you should find that it is gloomy and dark, and things are just not making sense, stop and ask Spirit for guidance.
Put it out there.
Ask to be shown the way.
We follow.
We lead.
We understand.

We leave a note on the door, so that when the past comes knocking, they will see that we are no longer home.
The adventure has started.
We look behind our shoulder and smile, for there is no more power in the past.
The Devil card is simply a reminder that we were once weak and now we are strong.
Now we are light.

Until next time.
Blessed Be,
Aaron

The Energy of the Week: That is All
Hello beautiful people,
Welcome to your weekly post about the energy of the week, what it will be like, and how to take better advantage of that energy.
Let us begin.

Seven of Swords:
When this card comes into a reading, we think of deception and lies.
It portrays a thief coming in and stealing some of the swords in the dark of night, leaving a few behind.
Five to be exact are what they carry away. They look back to see the other two sitting close by.
To take the other two or not.
This is the feeling of loss and regret.

Let us look beyond the card.
Sometimes we get greedy and we get caught up in the mix of fixing things.
Since this is a sword card, it deals with our emotion, thoughts, and communication.
A conversation taking place, but the truth not being spoken.

We think of deceit and lies because the truth is not being spoken, or an idea is being hidden in the dark.
This card can also take on the form of plots planned against us.
I don’t want to lead you down the shadow side of this card, because then that is all we will focus on, the lack of.
We look to the cards that lay around for the truth to be found.
The truth is always present and if we think that we are being lied to, then we also know what is really being said to us.

We also do not want to keep things to our self as a secret in fear that others will spoil our plans.
Bring things into the light.
If theft is taking place then know that the truth will be left behind in the process of getting out of the situation quick.

I also want to mention that this card works both ways.
We also must speak our truth to others.
This card is about the nature of being passive aggressive.
Even if we are to keep things in the shadow, eventually the truth will be revealed by the light of the morning sun.

Knight of Coins, Page of Wands, Knight of Swords:
Thank you Spirit for giving me all court cards.
Thank you Spirit for showing me that the cards can play games in a reading.

This week is about people.
Information.
Things spoken in words to us from others.
Contemplation.
Taking care of business.
Putting things in order.
Saying no.

Do not agree with everything we hear this week.
Spirit is telling us to manage our daily tasks and communicate our thoughts in a fashioned way.
Speak what we desire into existence.
That is all.

Until next time.
Blessed Be,
Aaron

The Energy of the Week: Light and Hope
Hello beautiful people,
Welcome to your weekly post about the energy of the week, what it will be like, and how to take better advantage of that energy.
Let us begin.

Two of Wands:
We hold the world in our hand.
We dance.
We understand.
Things look bright and contain power. We look to the horizon for truth and example.
We look to the horizon for an answer.

With the wind blowing and the rain passing, we listen to Source speak.
We contain the staff of knowledge in the other hand.
I see this card and try to work past the stand still picture.
The man in the picture is ready to throw his wand in the air and let it strike ground.
He will travel to that particular spot to see what is to be found.
Maybe there will be opportunity.
Maybe there will be love.
Maybe there will be nothing.

Regardless of what he will find, he still travels to where the wand has landed, with the world in his hand, he understands that everything will work out in his favor.

Sometimes we fear the “nothing”.
The unknown.
When this card shows up in a reading we have to advise the person that they hold the power in their own hand. The opportunity is created by their own will.
The spark has happened in the Ace of Wands, now it is time to let that spark grow into a fire.
Plan for the future. Plan for the present. Plan for the past.
All is intertwined.
Set the goal and sign the paper.
Throw your Wand into the air and when it lands, it may produce oil from the ground, causing you to strike it rich.
There is no time for day dreaming. This card is telling us that it is time to set a course for the northern star just past the horizon. Just past the sunset into the sunrise.

Death, Page of Coins, The Hierophant:
Transformation takes place with or without our consent.
Learn to go with the flow of change.
Allow the power to push us in the right direction.
Take what is being given and know that it is there for our own good.
To aid us on our journey.
To ground us.
With the Page of Coins bringing in documents to solidify the truth we have known for a while now, we move forward.
We smile.
We agree.
We are worthy.

This document will state to others that we know what we are talking about.
That everything is eventually brought into the light.
Examined and looked upon.
A decision will be made and it will be in our favor.

Truth and wisdom stand at our side.
They hold our hands, bringing in light and joy.
We surrender.
We look to the Universe and allow everything to come full circle.

We have been waiting.
Now it is time to advance.
Now it is time to let go of that which is holding us back.
It is time to return to something old, with new eyes.
With new thought.

Remembering the spiritual person we have become, containing light and hope.

Until next time.
Blessed Be,
Aaron

The Energy of the Week: Seeds of Faith
Hello beautiful people,
Welcome to your weekly post about the energy of the week, what it will be like, and how to take better advantage of that energy.
Let us begin.

Queen of Coins:
The Queen of Coins can be associated with “The Artist/Priestess”
Money and business are definitely involved when this female is around.
A Tarot reader who is in tune with the energy around them will understand when this card is a female person or a male with female energy. In this day and age, the Queens can be female or male. The Kings can also be put into this category.

Let us move forward. The Queen of Coins is strong willed. Everything she touches turns to gold. She is able to create something out of nothing. She works with the physical body and realm. She can also be associated with abundance.

I decided to meditate on this card. To get more information.
She states that she is life. The Queen of Coins is the book keeper in a business. She is the lender of money. She keeps all contracts in order.
Do not cross her for she will use the physical world against you.

What is the lesson associated with this card?
We must learn to create what we desire with compassion. We must tend to our physical world, creating relationships, and taking care of our health.
Learn to balance spiritual with physical. Understand that abundance is created with a gentle hand and determined heart.
It is about balance.
Standing our ground versus being stubborn.
Slight changes in thought and emotion.
Know when to give and when to hold back.

Ten of Coins, The Star, Two of Coins:
Our goals are just seeds that we plant into the element of Earth.
We tend to their needs.
We bring them thoughts of love.
We water them with our own spiritual truth and wait.

What if like minded people in our life also aid our goals into existence?
Would they bring in color and definition?
Would they bring in the thoughts of good intention?

We build community with those of like mind, so that we can create what is desired.
We allow them to bring in wisdom.
To plant other seeds of love around our seeds of faith.
Do not lose track of what we desire at this time while walking a spiritual path with a friend.
We all have our own ideas of what good looks like.
Neither person should have influence on what is desired, but they should each bring new ideas to the table of how to reach that goal.

We all should encourage each other to be better and thing thoughts of great possibility.
Even if we are to fall and stumble, there is a hand of love reaching out in our direction, advising us that everything is going to turn out okay.

The Two of Coins is telling us to be careful when working on our goals.
Do not over extend our energy by placing precise thought on each dream.
Pick one and know that once it is released into the Universe, it will be made whole into our reality.

Reach out to our spiritual community and find those that aid us in our process of creation.
The creation of life and love.
The creation of that which is desired.
The Desire to be great.

Until next time.
Blessed Be,
Aaron

The Road to Being a Spiritual Tarot Reader: We are Always Healing

The Road to Being a Spiritual Tarot Reader: We are Always Healing
Dear Sweet Spirit,

As I pull the cards out of the cloth they are kept in, I reflect on my past.
Actions taken with no thought or reason.
I jumped into the great unknown and landed on my two feet.

I think you will find yourself landing on your own two feet very soon.
We never truly heal from the pain of loss and expansion.
Our bones ache.
We are tired.

We ask Spirit for peace and understanding.
We ask Spirit to know.

Why must people enter into our life, demolish what we have created, and leave?
To break every piece of love within our heart.
To cause us to cry.

Why does loss happen?
Why do we die?

I write to you with some advice.

When all of the pain and sorrow has left our body, we begin to heal, but we truly never find wholeness again within the memories of the past.
We are forever changed and our spirit evolves, becoming brighter than before.
We level up.
The healing is still taking place as memories jump into our mind.
We begin to evaluate our words and actions.

Why did I say that?
Why did I not do this instead?

We start to make changes in the memory, hoping that the outcome will not be the same, but we find that it plays out exactly as we remember it.
Nothing changes.
The healing is still taking place on the wound that was placed on our spiritual heart.

Like the card Temperance, we begin to find that through creativity, we become whole again.

Time marches forward and we forget.
Years pass and we do not recall the memory as much.
Until one day it creeps up on us.
It pounces and scratches at our thoughts.
We begin to remember and the scar now becomes a fresh wound.
We are stronger though.
We are wise.

We take what is left behind and love the fucking shit out of it, for we know it is just the past trying to keep us from being whole.

As you can see the healing never really ends.
It lingers because Spirit knows that we will be faced with different circumstances, but with the same outcome as the past.
We must heal again but in a different place and time.

This allows us to process the feelings at a faster rate.
We leave it behind us.
We forgive.
It gets easier to speak about the pain and sorrow with others and as connections are made on a spiritual level, we start to let it go.

With all my love,
Aaron

The Energy of the Week: More is Given
Hello beautiful people,
Welcome to your weekly post about the energy of the week, what it will be like, and how to take better advantage of that energy.
Let us begin.

Knight of Cups:
The Mystic in us is wanting to come out and play.
We must return to the spiritual teachings we have learned and picked up along the way.

Who do you look to for a dose of divine guidance?
The knights bring action into our life but what does that action look like?
Are you the person who needs to usher in that state of action?

Universal Laws and Spiritual Truths are what we must strive to understand.
This is required from us this week.
To find that wonderful seed of truth and plant it into the ground.
The Knight of Cups is the Mystic.
The seeker of truth.
The spiritual journeyman.
With all the fine layers of movement and planned blows of creation, the knight has to be prepared for battle 24/7.

In life we face things head on and try to find the truth within the circumstance.
The Knight of Cups looks towards the spirit world within his cup of divination, and divines the end result.
Sometimes the truth is harsh.
Sometimes the future contains our own demise.
Regardless it is still truth.
It still contains an element of destruction and death.
The truth also contains love and happiness.
The end result can be viewed either positive or negative.
It is our perception that creates the outcome.

Do you wish to see love or do you wish to see hate?
Do you wish to see war or do you wish to see resolution?

This is what the Knight of Cups brings into our life.
The ability to divine what may come next and strike upon the opportunity to grow or fight the change as it begins to unravel all around us.

Eight of Coins, Ace of Cups, Six of Coins:
We see coins in our life.
Money.
Things made whole and created with fire and metal.

The Eight of Coins speaks to us about mastering a skill.
Taking what we have learned and moving forward.
This could mean that we add more knowledge to what we already know, or we develop a new skill that we left in the past.
Maybe at that point in time it was too hard to understand.
As if we could not grasp the simple instructions given to us by Spirit.

We pick up where we left off.
Starting over.
Beginning again but a little bit wiser, as we pick up the tools needed to create.

Other people may offer help.
Other people may offer advice.
Everything still lies within our hands.
We create our happiness.

Those that we love, encourage us to be strong and move forward.
With kind words, spirit whispers of what is to come next.
We receive information that will aid us on our journey.
We are confidant in our next step.

There is greatness flowing into our life and we must recognize it.
We are never alone on our spiritual path.
It may seem like we have no help or that things are not working out in our favor, but spirit has a different plan for us.
Believe that everything is happening for a reason and that we will get through what ever obstacle is set in front of us.

Until next time.
Blessed Be,
Aaron

The Energy of the Week: In Our Seat
Hello beautiful people,
Welcome to your weekly post about the energy of the week, what it will be like, and how to take better advantage of that energy.
Let us begin.

Ten of Cups:
I am safe.
It deals with the emotional stability of family, whereas, the Ten of Coins deals with the financial stability of life.
The Ten of Cups can also deal with options, in regards to what we desire in a family or for our family.
All Ten’s deal with an ending of a cycle.
The completion of something.
All things do come to an end, but we forget that life starts over.
Nothing ever dies. It is recycled into the greater scheme of things.
Into the greater good.
We desire and hope for the best. The Ten of Coins talks about hope and desire. The thought process of what could possibly go right in our life.
There are times when we only want to focus on what could go wrong. The Ten of Cups is stating: Be happy with what you have.

It is almost as if the card is telling us to enjoy the good we have accumulated. We are coming from the point of view of the Nine of Cups.
What we wish will be received.
We know things are working out in our favor, but the Ten of Cups is stating that we should be content with what has been presented to us.
There is not much you can write on the Ten of Cups. It represents community and family. The togetherness. The pull through. The coming together after the storm.
After the destruction has hit those who did not believe. Did not believe in the power of love.
The power of love!
That’s it!

We have decided to take this wonderful journey with love. The heartache, the pain, and the glory.
The Ten of Cups talks about the end factor of the struggle. How love conquered hate. How true love's kiss woke us from our slumber.
Ah yes!

As I write this down, a song starts to play on my phone.
"Elastic Heart" by Sia.
This is the end result of love.
The breakthrough.
The determining factor that pulls those who were apart, together again.
It brings the lonely warriors full circle with their spiritual relationships. Combines their powers of knowledge and strength to start the process of solidification of that which we desire.
A coven.
A coven celebrating with other covens.
A group of like-minded people requesting good.
Requesting good to take place upon the Earth.
Remember, we are all part of the whole.

The High Priestess, Knight of Coins, Four of Wands:
The Unseen brings to us foundation.
A place to build our spiritual temple.
To place our burning incense and magic sigils.

We move forward with a firm hand.
We organize and manipulate the very energy around us, creating and destroying matter between worlds.
Losing one planet and gaining another within our gravitational pull.

Things happen when we are not looking.
Behind the curtain people shuffle and move, changing from one costume to the next.
Evolving into something greater.
The stage takes on another form.
Brick and wood are moved from one side to the other.
Things fall and break.

We only hear the sounds of things changing, and pay no attention, for we think it is all part of the act.
The Universe is creating what is desired as we walk through our week, only noticing what is not happening.
What is not taking place.

Time to change our view.
Time to imagine what is really taking place behind the curtain.
Something wonderful is happening as all characters stand on their mark.
The curtains will part this week and reveal the scene.
Reveal the good that was taking place as we sat in our seat.

Until next time.
Blessed Be,
Aaron
